I am sitting on a Cafe and wrestling with my focus on the book I have in my kindle which I am holding with my left hand. In my right hand, there is a wooden spoon which I am using to eat Non-spicy somehow sweet Japanese style “Kima kare”. My ears were occupied with the kids talking about the football match they have later that day from distant and my eyes were carefully observing a well dressed middle aged man who is coming down to the cafe crossing the narrow walkway through the adjacent tiny garden. As he arrived and discovered that all the seats with shade are taken, he sat down on a chair which is unprotected from Autumn sunshine. He looks tired and presumably walking for sometime. He has his fair share of fat around the belly and takes no effort to hide them. The man directly starred at me and threw me a smile which I returned back promptly. It seemed he is returning from a business meeting and I felt bad that he is working in this wonderful sunny Sunday in a cold but pleasant autumn. The woman from the cafe rushed to attend the man as he made an effort to make himself comfortable in the chair too small for his size. She was polite but friendly with him and apologizing for not having the seats empty which are placed inside the cafe under the roof. She greeted him with cold water and Menu . She did not forget to mention Today’s recommended curry – “Kima kare（キーマカレー）” and like all other customers including myself he ordered the Chef’s recommendation for that day. The woman looked happy and quickly turned back to me asking if I need more water. I politely showed her the nice looking medium size jar still having enough water to make myself to use the toilet at least once in next two hours. She smiled and left me alone with my book which I quickly decided to put away in order to finish the precious “Kima kare（キーマカレー）”.

Kima Kare (キーマカレー)

As I was putting that in my mouth using the spoon, it quickly began melting as soon as it got in touch to my tongue. It was a Japanese version of Indian Keema curry. I, of course would prefer bit more spicy, but my 7 years old Japanese self convinced me this is the way to cook “Kima kare（キーマカレー）”, the right way. My other self usually does not disagree with my Japanese self and I quickly decided that this is the most delicious curry I had in few months. The cafe is only 2 minutes walk from my place. I live in out of nowhere in the city of Yokohama. The place is little far from the city and all the fancy dating spots in Sakuragicho with iconic ferry wheels. It takes around 40 minutes by train to go to any of the nice places people would normally go on weekends. Its been around three years I am living here and only place to go around my place in my mind was the 7/11 store nearby which is open 24/7 until today I have found this tiny little cafe slightly uphill just two minutes walk away form my home. I did not know that I could just wake up at 10.30 am in the morning on Sunday and be in a cafe with little garden for breakfast eating “Kima kare（キーマカレー）” while attempting to read a book of a complicated topic. My curry was finished and without delay I discovered the host of the cafe standing just beside me with the jug of freshly brewed coffee. As she poured that into my nice not so little coffee mug, I was informed that I can get unlimited refill of coffee as much as I want. Well, bingo… two minutes from my place, unlimited coffee, special curry as breakfast, a little garden and bunch of neighbors starring at me as bonus on my weekend as I am well known in this little community as the only “foreigner living in three kilometers radius”. Thinking all these and patting me for my discovery, I concentrated to finish my coffee to gain more focus to continue reading the book I have which appeared to be rather daunting task now. To make that harder I began eavesdropping the conversation of the couples sitting beside me. They are newly married and the girl turned out to be a dreamer type. She was so excited to plan the next summer vacation which is far away from now. The guy was half listening as he was finishing his dessert on the plate. I looked at the menu of the cafe once again I found out the name of the cafe is なつうめ (Natsu Ume). I do not know if it means anything, but I presumed they consciously misspelled 夏夢 which sounds more or less same and means “Summer dream” in English. No wonder the girl is dreaming about the summer far away from this autumn. Soon after I finished my coffee, paid my bills and decided to visit my summer dreams in this place throughout the coming Autumn and winter.

PS : Here is the place xD https://goo.gl/maps/hgw9HYH8azpFdHFW6

It was a Sunday, 11 am in the morning.
